About 5 years ago our neighbor Roarke was diagnosed with a brain tumor. That’s scary no matter who you are, but he was just a kid like me! He’s been through his treatment and has been cancer free for a while now (YAY!).
I knew I was just a kid, but I wanted to do something to help support him and other kids like him. When he was going through his treatments, I learned that some kids lose their hair and need to wear a wig! I thought about it and since I had some extra hair, I figured I could grow it out and donate it to someone who needed it more than I did. Well, today was the day for my haircut for my donation to Wigs for Kids!
Roarke came with us when I got it cut, since he was my inspiration. I was glad to have him there because it was a little scary getting it cut after so long!
