By snuggling with my stuffies and talking about why some animals are now endangered: because people are destroying their habitats or over hunting/fishing, or even for trophies or something.
We also did a quick SciFri: Möbius strips
We made loops of paper with different amounts of twists in them. We drew lines and some went all the way around on both sides of the paper! And some went only on one side. Then we tried cutting the loops in half the long way – we ended up with smaller loops, bigger loops, or intertwined loops!

It is good to know why some animals might disappear from the wild. Sometimes it can’t be helped, but sometimes it can. And then you can also become involved with having very good zoos so we can still see them is settings that “look like” where they used to live. Cages are bad, but well-planned habitats can even fool the animals!
and of course, your stuffies have the very best environment!! With YOU in it!!
